WNBA, players union agree to 40-day extension on CBA
The WNBA and WNBA Players Association agreed to an extension on the current CBA through Jan. 9. The agreement includes the option for either party to terminate the extension with 48 hours notice. The union and league previously extended the initial Oct. 31 deadline by 30 days last month. Sunday's move comes as the two sides have seemingly remained far apart amid negotiations particularly in determining salary structure and revenue sharing systems.

Nationwide, National Football League extend partnership with multiyear renewal
Nationwide and the National Football League have announced the multiyear extension of their partnership. Nationwide will continue sponsoring the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. The two organizations have been partners since 2014 and Nationwide has contributed more than $2.3 million to charities supported by the nominees and winners.

BetMGM launched mobile and retail sports betting in Missouri with its partner Century Casinos Inc. Players across the state can now place wagers through the mobile app or in the new BetMGM Sportsbook at Century Casino & Hotel Cape Girardeau. BetMGM currently operates in 30 markets with mobile and retail offerings.

MSU basketball sets viewership record in win over North Carolina
Michigans State’s men’s basketball win over North Carolina on Thanksgiving set a viewership record for FOX. This is now the most-watched college basketball game ever on FOX, with 5.49 million viewers and a peak of 13.41 million. Michigan State is now 7-0 on the year and holds wins over three ranked opponents.

NC State, Virginia to make history with Brazil game in 2026
NC State and Virginia will make history on Aug. 29, 2026. The teams will compete in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This will be the first college football game played in South America. The game will be played at Nilton Santos Stadium and televised by ESPN, with additional streaming possibilities still being discussed.

Michael Jordan vs. NASCAR trial begins: Explaining the case that could alter a sport
Basketball icon Michael Jordan is the majority owner of 23XI Racing, a five-year-old NASCAR team that is co-owned by Denny Hamlin. Bob Jenkins owns Front Row Motorsports. Both companies allege NASCAR has illegally used its power within stock racing in “monopolistic” ways. NASCAR and co-defendant Jim France, the CEO who is part of NASCAR’s founding family, claims it has done nothing wrong and the teams’ dissatisfaction stems over a business dispute during negotiations for what is known as the franchise-like “charter system.”

The 126th annual Army-Navy game is on Dec. 13 at M&T Bank Stadium. President Donald Trump is going to attend the game. He will be in a luxury suite with Vice President JD Vance, Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz.

Florida hires Dave Caldwell as G.M. of football operations
Former Jaguars G.M. Dave Caldwell has been hired as the University of Florida’s G.M. of football operations. Caldwell served as the Jacksonville G.M. from 2013-2020. Since 2021, he has worked as a personnel executive with the Eagles.
