Charlotte FC ends permanent seat licenses after being only MLS team to issue them
Charlotte FC has announced that it will immediately stop selling permanent seat licenses (PSLs), ending its status as the only Major League Soccer franchise to use the upfront fee system. In response to the change, the club is offering its roughly 15,000 existing PSL owners a 100% account credit that will be split over their season ticket purchases for the next two seasons. Fans and local supporters have widely welcomed the decision, hoping the removal of the widely unpopular fees will help reverse a recent decline in average home match attendance.

Audi Field proposed for $620m expansion
D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson has introduced legislation for a proposed $620 million expansion of Audi Field, the home venue for D.C. United and the Washington Spirit. While the District would contribute $300 million toward the expansion, the early-stage proposal would also require D.C. United to build 467 new housing units, including designated affordable and senior housing.

This internal friction has led league insiders to believe that Engelbert is likely serving in her final season as the WNBA's commissioner.
