Amazon Adds Golf to Its Packed Black Friday Sports Lineup With NFL, NBA
Amazon acquired the broadcast rights to a revived made-for-TV golf classic. This will give Prime Video wall-to-wall live sports on Black Friday, alongside NFL and NBA coverage. On Nov. 28, The Skins Game will return for the first time since 2008. The PGA Tour brings back the unofficial money event that was a hit for nearly three decades. This year, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, and Keegan Bradley will face off in a $4 million showdown at Panther National in South Florida.

NYSE Owner Pours $2B Into Polymarket at $8B Valuation
Polymarket will receive up to $2 billion from the operator of the New York Stock Exchange at an $8 billion valuation. Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) will make a strategic investment in Polymarket, which has been barred from operating in the U.S. since 2022. It is planning to relaunch in the country imminently.

Grand Slam Track secures ‘emergency funding’ as it eyes return in 2026
Athletics legend Michael Johnson’s Grand Slam Track venture has secured emergency funding to pay participants up to half of what they are owed in prize money. The event is actively seeking a return next year after launching in April this year. The company cancelled the final event after one of GST’s financial backers withdrew their support.

ESPN sets viewership records during MLB wild-card series
Game three of the Boston Red Sox-New York Yankees series averaged 7,439,000 views. This is a single-game wild-card series record under the current format. It was the largest audience for an ESPN baseball game since Boston met the Yankees in a one-game wild-card playoff in 2021. The network averaged 4,625,000 views for the 11 games. This jumped 89% from last year.

On Tuesday, Lebron James announced his “Second Decision.” Fans expected this to be retirement plans, but it ended up being an ad for a liquor company. He announced his partnership with Hennessy, the cognac brand he has endorsed for some time.

The United Football League announced three new franchises set to debut in the spring of 2026, the league’s third season. The new teams are located in Columbus, Ohio, Louisville, Kentucky, and Orlando, Florida. New team names were also announced for two legacy teams.

The owner of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, Ton Dundon, announced that Doug Warf resigned as President of Hurricanes Holdings, LLC. Warf had re-joined the organization in July 2024, after previously working for the Hurricanes from 2000-2017.

NIL Hits Week 1: Auburn’s Atlanta Game Marks Next Step in Player Pay
Last year, college football bowl games paid players through NIL deals. Next year, the practice will expand to at least one season-opening kickoff game. Auburn is moving its Sept. 5, 2026 home game against Baylor to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. This will be the Aflac Kickoff Game. Auburn players will be able to engage in NIL activations tied directly to ticket sales and surrounding events.
