President Donald Trump Says Eagles Will Be Invited to White House After Super Bowl Win
Yahoo Sports’ Jack Baer writes, “The door is ostensibly open for the Philadelphia Eagles to visit the White House after winning the Super Bowl. Unlike last time.

“Speaking with reporters Tuesday, President Donald Trump confirmed the Eagles would be extended an invitation, praised their performance against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, then requested a staffer take care of the invitation.

“The Eagles have already said they will go if invited. There is history between the team and president, though, and not just because he picked the Chiefs to win because he liked Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany.”

Unrivaled Promo to Bring Women’s Sports Push to a New Place — a NASCAR Race
The Athletic’s Jeff Gluck writes, “‘Women’s Sports = Good Business.’ ‘A Movement Not A Moment.’ ‘Women’s Sports; Are You Watching Yet?’ Those slogans, along with other symbols promoting women’s sports, will be in an unusual place next month: a NASCAR racetrack.

“Ally Financial, which sponsors Alex Bowman’s No. 48 car, has chosen to use its NASCAR Cup Series paint scheme at the March 23 race in Homestead, Fla., outside of Miami, as a promotional vehicle for Unrivaled, the new 3×3 women’s basketball league which has been playing its games 30 miles north of the racetrack and will hold its championship one week prior to the race.”

5 Former Players Are Running Baseball Operations in the Majors. More Could be On the Way
“There are a ton of incredibly successful executives who didn’t play baseball,” said chief baseball officer for the Boston Red Sox, Craig Breslow, 44. “I don’t think it’s a prerequisite, but I do think it provides a level of credibility and empathy given I’ve kind of been on every side of a transaction, or every side of a conversation I’ve had to have with a player or coach. And credibility in terms of really being able to understand what players are thinking about, what they’re going through.”

CFP Commissioners Put Off Any Decisions on Changes to Playoff Format, Including Seeding of Teams
Commissioners who are part of the College Football Playoff had some discussions Tuesday about possible changes for next season. Several members of the CFP Management Committee, which is made up of all 10 FBS commissioners and Notre Dame athletic director Pete Bevacqua, said they need more data and information before deciding on any changes.

Rich Clark, the executive director of the CFP, said much of Tuesday’s meeting included a review of last season’s playoff, the first since the field tripled in size from four to 12 teams.

Matt Roan, JMU AD, Talks Positioning
Roan on the On The Fly Podcast by Playfly Sports, "When you look at our rev share plan, figuring out what is the number that works for us that certainly leads in the Sun Belt Conference, but also is consistent with some of our national peers, right? Those people that we want to compete with for access to the CFP and to compete with for access to NCAA postseason competition and advancing in that competition.  And we feel like we're doing just that. But, a value for us is we wanted to be additive, right? We didn't want to have to take away from what it is that we do incredibly well and stop doing things that really have kind of set this place apart." Women’s March Madness Promises Star Power Even Without Caitlin Clark
FOS’ Colin Salao writes, “Indianapolis is used to fans flocking to the city to catch a glimpse of Caitlin Clark. But on Sunday, fans sold out Butler’s Hinkle Fieldhouse not to catch Clark, but instead the visiting UConn Huskies and star guard Paige Bueckers.

“Bueckers, together with USC’s JuJu Watkins, has carried the torch left by Clark as the top attraction in NCAA women’s basketball. The December game between the Huskies and Trojans drew 2.2 million viewers, the most-watched NCAA women’s basketball game of the season. It was also Fox’s second-most-watched game, behind only last year’s game when Clark broke the NCAA scoring record.”
