Italy’s top-flight soccer league Serie A has agreed to rights deals in several international markets with global sports streaming platform DAZN. The company will stream eight games per round in the UK and Ireland. They have acquired Spanish language rights in the US and Caribbean and will air five matches exclusively.

EA Sports College Football 26 early access released on July 7. The game has new updated features like louder crowds, star players in the spotlight and school traditions. There are blitz packages and stunts that allow players to get more creative. High school is now in the road to glory. Actual coaches' names are now in the game. The home screen music has been updated and the transfer portal is unpredictable.

Missouri legislators passed stadium funding for the Chiefs and Royals. Kansas lawmakers voted unanimously to keep in place a framework for both stadium bonds called Sales Tax and Revenue bonds. Kansas officials want a decision from the teams by the end of this year. The Royals are planning to build a new stadium but the location remains in question.

The Big East and ESPN are reuniting in a six-year deal. The deal will give added content from across 22 sports to the network’s direct-to-customer platform. There will be 25 non-conference men’s basketball games streamed on ESPN+ starting in the 2025-26 school year. A minimum of 75 women’s basketball games and 200 Olympic sports events will also be shown.

Brett Yormark is doubling down on the idea of a 16-team playoff with just five guaranteed bids. This model is one of the two ideas that have been mentioned for a bigger playoff. For now, the 2025 season is the second year that there will be a 12-team playoff.

Tennessee State University planned in 2023 to become the first HBCU to launch a hockey program. The school is postponing the intended inaugural season, which was 2025-26. It is now delayed until at least the 2026-27 season. The school announced in September of 2024 that it was in a financial emergency.
