ESPN BET Show on Hiatus Amid DraftKings Transition
ESPN BET Live is no longer running, for now. The program has been off-air this month. The plan is for it to be reimagined and return in a different form. ESPN switched its gambling affiliation on Dec. 1 after pulling out of a deal to license its name to Penn Entertainment. DraftKings is now ESPN’s new official betting odds provider.

UNLV Athletics And Learfield Name Acesso Biologics As First Official Jersey Patch Partner
UNLV announced a five-season partnership naming with Acesso Biologics as the Official Jersey Patch Partner for UNLV Football, Runnin' Rebels Men's Basketball, Lady Rebels Women's Basketball, and Hustlin' Rebels Baseball. This is the first official multi-sport corporate jersey patch and on-field logo partner in NCAA Athletics. The corporate jersey patch rule proposal is expected to be voted on by the NCAA membership in January 2026, and if passed, would take effect on August 1, 2026.

Why Snowboarder Scotty James Bought an X Games Stake
Scotty James has been an Olympian since he was 15 years old. His brother Sean would video him snowboarding. A Netflix documentary called Pipe Dream is coming out on Dec. 19 with those videos and his life story of becoming an Olympic gold medalist. He personally invested in the project. He also invested and has been an adviser in the X Games since 2023. He is the only active athlete with an ownership stake in the X Games.

It’s a Bidding War: Paramount Attempts Hostile Offer for Warner Bros.
David Ellison thinks Netflix’s $82.7 billion deal is an “inferior proposal.” He told Warner Bros. shareholders that this coalition promises $18 billion more in cash. His coalition includes Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds. Paramount is launching a $108.4 billion hostile offer backed by Ellison’s family, along with RedBird Capital and multiple wealth funds, to take over all of Warner Bros. Discovery.

LIV Golf CEO Says the League's Biggest Disappointment is Obvious
Scott O’Neill is in his first year as the CEO of LIV Golf. He took over the job from Greg Norman in January. LIV Golf is entering its fifth season. O’Neil said the biggest disappointment from his first year in leadership was the world ranking points.

Work begins on Williams-Brice Stadium revamp
The University of South Carolina has commenced construction on a major redevelopment of Williams-Brice Stadium. Initial demolition work has begun. The first phase of the project is renovating the general concourse and student section. There will be new premium areas, expanded amenities and improvements to elevate the fan experience.

First college sports CBA proposal unveiled as players association pushes reform
Jim Cavale is the founder of Athletes.org. Cavale and representatives from his organization have spent a year drafting what is believed to be the first collective bargaining agreement for college sports. The 35-page document includes regulations, rules and more that would help address the battles college sports leaders are fighting in court and seeking assistance with on Capitol Hill.

Notre Dame AD says CFP selection committee pulled rug in 'farce'
Notre Dame athletic director Pete Bevacqua told ESPN that the program was in utter disbelief and shock after being left out of the 12-team College Football Playoff on Sunday. By not making it this year, Notre Dame lost out on a $4 million payday for just making the field. All 12 schools that make the CFP receive that amount, but the difference is that Notre Dame, as an independent, doesn't have to split it with conference members.
