Shohei Ohtani bobblehead night: Dodgers star makes MLB history after catching first pitch from his dog
The Los Angeles Dodgers gave away Shohei Ohtani bobbleheads and Decoy, his dog, bobbleheads. The first 40,000 fans to enter Dodgers Stadium received the bobbleheads. Roughly six hours before the game began, fans were already lining up to be the first ones in the stadium. Dodgers Stadium has a capacity of 56,000, so not everyone was guaranteed a souvenir.

DraftKings acquired Simplebet, a company that specializes in live event wagers. Simplebet was founded in 2018 and provides micro-betting information on major U.S. sports leagues. This comes after the NFLPA sued DraftKings, closed down its NFT marketplace and sold VSiN.

Apple has updated its sports app that launched earlier this year just in time for the NFL and college football seasons. There are new ways to view the status of a football drive, check scores on iPhone lock screens or Apple Watches and jump more quickly between leagues in the app’s interface. They will be adding Champions League and Europa League soccer action to the platform in September.

Foot Locker is moving its headquarters to Florida to avoid New York’s rising costs. The move will be finished by the end of 2025. Employees won’t be required to relocate. The company is going to continue to have a presence in New York to keep connections to basketball and the sneaker culture.

Colorado’s Deion Limelight Trumps $700K Bonus For North Dakota State
In May of 2016, the athletic directors for Colorado and North Dakota State signed an agreement for a football game between their programs to be played on a Saturday some eight-plus years later. CU would pay NDSU $700,000 to come to Folsom Field. Instead, the teams will meet in a nationally televised prime-time game on Thursday. If NDSU had joined the FBS prior to the contest, the pay would have doubled to $1.4 million.
