Olympic sponsor Coca-Cola “making concerted effort” to address athlete plastic pollution concerns
The 2024 Paris Olympics is aiming to be the greenest games ever. More than 100 current and former athletes put their names on a letter sent to the chief executives of Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, urging the companies to use their sponsorship of major events to promote reusable products. Coca-Cola vice president of global sports and entertainment marketing and partnerships, Brad Ross, heard this and made changes. Beverage and water fountains with refill options are available at the Olympics, along with returnable glass bottles and bottles made with recyclable materials.

Wild Sign Brock Faber to a Eight-Year Contract Extension
The Minnesota Wild signed Brock Faber to an eight-year contract extension. The 21-year-old will make $8.5 million a season beginning the 2025-26 season. Faber played in all 82 games for the Wild last year, scoring eight goals and 47 points. He set a single-season rookie franchise record for most assists, blocked shots and time on ice.

Fresno State football head coach Jeff Tedford stepped down from his position due to ongoing health reasons. Tedford was with the Bulldogs for five seasons and led them to three Mountain West division titles, two Mountain West Conference titles and four bowl-game wins. Assistant head coach Tim Skipper was promoted to interim head Fresno State football coach. New athletics director Garrett Klassy is still expected to look for a new head coach.

Manchester United is considering the development of a new 100,000-seat stadium, costing at least $2.6 billion. If constructed, the facility would become the U.K.’s largest, surpassing Wembley Stadium, which seats 90,000.
