The Green Bay Packers saw an increase of $44 million in its 2023 season revenue, making $654 million. The increase in national revenue was attributed to built-in gains from the league’s broadcast deals and new streaming partnerships.

WNBA’s $2.2B Media Rights Deal Marks 6X Jump For League
The NBA and WNBA reached an agreement with Disney, NBC and Amazon. The new round of TV deals is worth $76 billion over 11 years. The WNBA will earn $2.2 billion over the life of the agreement, or $200 million a year. That amount is a 6x gain compared to its prior ESPN deal.

Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger and Southern California Dean for Communication and Journalism Willow Bay will be the new controlling owners of Angel City FC. The stake for the National Women’s Soccer League team is valued at $250 million. Bay will serve on and fully control the team’s board of directors and will represent the team on the NWSL’s Board of Governors.

Angels and Anaheim Reach $2.75 Million Stadium Settlement
Anaheim is paying the Los Angeles Angels MLB team $2.75 million and will get to build a fire station on the stadium property. Since 2022, the city and team have been working toward a settlement after then-mayor Harry Sidhu gave confidential information to the Angels to help them get favorable terms in a deal to sell the stadium site to the team.

Six months after retiring as Alabama football head coach, Nick Saban is back at SEC Media Days. This time, Saban will be asking the questions, working for ESPN this Eason on its “College GameDay” Saturday pregame show.
“I’m still a coach at heart. So I want to ask the coaches questions so that they can actually talk about things that they want to talk about, and maybe things that they want to be able to get out there,” Saban said Wednesday, a short time before his successor, Kalen DeBoer, made his SEC Media days debut as Tide coach.
