Indiana moves forward with deal to bring Chicago Bears to the state
Indiana lawmakers moved forward with their end of a proverbial deal to move the Chicago Bears to Hammond, passing Senate Bill 27 nearly unanimously in a 95-4 vote. The bill outlines the financial incentives and authority to build a stadium in northwest Indiana's Lake County. It's still unclear whether the team intends to move from Chicago to northwest Indiana, as Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said last week Bears representatives had "mostly agreed" to keep the team within the state.

The promotion put on its first official event on Jan. 23. UFC bantamweight Sean O’Malley said, “I don’t even know who Conor Benn is. It’s crazy how you put in so much work in the UFC, build this name, create this character, be a star. I’m not making fucking $15 million to fight.”

NCAA pausing talks on NCAA Tournament expansion as president reaffirms support enlarging field in future
NCAA senior vice president Dan Gavitt told reporters that talks on expansion will be paused, with a resolution not coming until after the 2026 NCAA Tournament at the earliest. NCAA president Charlie Baker neglected to answer an expansion question when asked at the organization’s headquarters. The NCAA's men's and women's basketball committees have been debating and deliberating the concept of expanding their 68-team tournaments for close to four years now. The general public -- and much of the sports media -- stands opposed to the idea of watering down one of the country's most treasured sporting events.
