Munich, Cologne to host NHL games
Munich’s SAP Garden and Cologne’s Lanxess Arena have been selected to host regular season NHL games during the 2027–28 season as part of the 2027 NHL Global Series Germany. The games will feature the Boston Bruins playing two matchups in Munich and the Edmonton Oilers competing in Cologne, bringing star German NHL players JJ Peterka and Leon Draisaitl back to perform in front of their hometown fans. Several NFL players granted restraining order to return to college football
A Louisiana judge granted a temporary restraining order allowing several players currently on NFL rosters, including Dae'Quan Wright and Wydett Williams, to return to college football for an additional year of eligibility. The legal action is part of a broader lawsuit involving over 100 athletes challenging recent NCAA eligibility rule changes that excluded players who were seniors in 2025. In response, the NCAA criticized the court decisions, arguing that allowing professional athletes to treat collegiate sports as a fallback option destabilizes college athletics and deprives newer student-athletes of roster opportunities.
