Mike McDaniel's Live Reaction To Miami's Hail Mary Pick-Six Is Gold
Jevon Holland’s stunning pick-six against the Jets last week was so thrilling that Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel found himself fully caught up in the moment. On the final play of the first half, New York lined up for a Hail Mary attempt—and it went terribly wrong. Not only was Tim Boyle’s desperate heave picked off by Holland at the goal line, the third-year safety proceeded to run it all the way back for a touchdown.
It was a remarkable play that sent the Miami sideline into hysterics. And because the Dolphins are being followed by NFL Films cameras for the in-season edition of Hard Knocks, we got a fantastic view of how Miami coach Mike McDaniel reacted to the play.

NFL Stadium Financing Thrives Despite Inflation, Borrowing Costs
In recent decades, a significant hurdle for NFL teams seeking new stadiums has been garnering public support for where to place a new facility. In the mid-1990s, residents torpedoed plans for a domed stadium in South Boston, and in 2005 a plan for a Manhattan bowl for the Jets was sunk by business and political opposition.
But setting aside the political volatility of a stadium location, NFL owners sit in the enviable position of being able to finance top-of-the-line facilities for their teams more easily than many other private parties, according to Steve Vogel, managing director at U.S. Bank’s sports finance group and one of the major players in stadium finance.

NFL has nothing better to do than mistake an iPad glove for an injury
While carrying an iPad, Cincinnati Bengals' player Joe Burrow wore a tablet glove before a game, then injured his wrist during it -- and now crack NFL investigators are looking for a molehill.
It's "CSI: NFL" as social media footage of Burrow wearing something on his wrist has been slowed down, highlighted, possibly deleted, and maybe then recovered. It's all very suspicious, until you see the footage and without ever having heard of tablet gloves, immediately know that he's wearing an tablet glove.

UFC Inks Record Deal with Bud Light, Absorbs Backlash to Grow Int’l Business
TKO Group Holdings (NYSE: TKO) will hold its first earnings call as a publicly traded company later today (Nov. 7). The UFC’s newly signed global beer partnership with Anheuser-Busch Inbev (NYSE: BUD) is certain to be among the highlights mentioned.
The MMA promotion recently announced a six-year pact reportedly worth more than $100 million. The deal, which begins in January ’24, is said to be the largest sponsorship tie-up in UFC history on a per-year basis.
The money, however, comes with a catch (or at least some backlash).
Anheuser-Busch plans to use the UFC platform to promote its Bud Light brand in the United States (it has discretion to promote other brands under its umbrella abroad). BUD has faced criticism and calls for boycott from conservatives since aligning with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney back in April.
Of course, conservatives comprise a vocal portion of the UFC fan base.

Do new NBA arenas pay off? Oklahoma City voters are the latest to weigh this question
Donning a sky-blue tracksuit with orange stripes and a temporary “OKC” tattoo on her cheek, Emma Watts flowed toward the Paycom Center with thousands of fans pumped for the first game of a new NBA season.
On Thunder game nights, Watts said she likes to walk from her office building downtown to the arena. The city comes alive.
“To see all these people downtown on a weeknight all together is magical,” Watts, 37, said. “I remember what downtown Oklahoma City looked like growing up here as a kid, you just did not come down here. Now it’s the place to be.”
For more than a year, Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt has been championing a proposal for a new $900 million arena, funded largely by the city. It aims to keep the Thunder in the city until 2050.
But despite the team’s booming fan base, the idea has drawn concerns over Oklahoma City’s funding priorities, the true economic impact of a new sports stadium, and the possibility of losing its only professional sports franchise.
