U.S. Action in Venezuela Disrupts Pro League, MLB Players, and WBC Plans
The Latin American baseball scene has been disturbed after the U.S. military removed the country’s president, Nicolás Maduro. Venezuela’s pro baseball league, Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional, suspended playoff games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, but said Sunday afternoon that play will resume on Wednesday. Commercial air travel in and out of the country has been heavily reduced. This could create problems with MLB players coming to spring training early next month.

In 2026, team valuations will likely climb even higher because there is a scarcity of teams, media-rights certainty and a growing pool of potential investors.
