NFL Sunday Ticket is getting a major upgrade. YouTube and YouTube TV will now feature more customizable multiview NFL game options on Sunday afternoons. Last year, only select combinations were available for Sunday Ticket users throughout the early and late Sunday game windows.

Playground Productions announced that Backyard Sports will be making a return in the near future. The series will also be appearing in film and television in the future. The video game began back in 1997 when the company released Backyard Baseball.

PGA TOUR Brings Back Live Drone Tracer Tech for FedExCup Playoffs and Presidents Cup
The PGA TOUR’s live drone tracker technology will continue to be implemented for all three FedEx Cup Playoff events after a successful debut at the Travelers Championship in late June. The TOUR and NBC Sports will also launch augmented-reality graphics from the live moving drone. KAZE Aerial Production is providing the drone for these productions.

Cubs release reliever Héctor Neris, avoid $9M vesting option for 2025
Héctor Neris signed a one-year $9 million deal with the Chicago Cubs in the offseason and appeared in 46 games. The team released Neris, making him an unrestricted free agent with a little over a month left in the regular season.
Yahoo Sports says, “What makes this move all the more interesting for the Cubs is how it will affect their spending for next season. Neris had a vesting player option for $9 million for 2025 that would have been activated had he appeared in 60 games or finished 45 games this season.”

ESPN to name Mike Greenberg host of ‘Sunday NFL Countdown’: Source
Mike Greenberg will be the new host of Sunday NFL Countdown as ESPN sets up its lineup for its first Super Bowl in 2027. Greenberg will replace Sam Ponder. Ponder was fired last week with one year and more than a million dollars left on her contract.

United States announces team for 2024 Paralympics, with 225 members heading to Paris
The 2024 Paralympics start on Aug. 28 with the Opening Ceremony. Team USA will have 110 male and 110 female Paralympic athletes, plus five guides. There are 141 returning athletes and 78 newcomers.

Alabama, GM Courtney Morgan agree to terms on landmark new contract
General manager Courtney Morgan and Alabama have agreed to terms on a landmark new deal that will serve as a market resetter for people in the college front office and personnel space. They have agreed to a new three-year deal that’s expected to pay around $825,000 per year.
