Netflix is expanding into live sports. The company recently hired ESPN on-air talent Elle Duncan. Netflix tried to pursue Malika Andrews, but she signed a multiyear extension with ESPN in September. With Netflix, Duncan will anchor the streaming service’s live sports and studio content lineup, taking on a leading position in coverage.

Intersport bringing two big college hoops games to Fox, CBS on Thanksgiving Day
Over a 35-day stretch, Chicago-based agency Intersport will handle 69 games. Two of the biggest will be held on Thanksgiving Day. CBS and Fox will have men’s games airing around their annual NFL slate. The North Carolina-Michigan State game will air right after the 1pm ET NFL game. The Duke-Arkansas game will air after the Chiefs-Cowboys game.

The University of Oklahoma announced Populous and Manhattan Construction are its partners for the renovation of the west side of Gaylord Family— Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The renovation is called The Palace Project. The stadium has a capacity of around 80,000. The project aims to expand the concourses and upgrade amenities to new gathering spaces.

Salt Lake City won the bid to host the 2034 Olympics and Paralympics. The organizing committee will rebrand as Utah 2034. The announcement was made in the Salt Lake City International Airport. Branded art installation is up and a merchandising program with the new wordmark is out.

College Football Playoff and ESPN Extend Deadline For Finalizing Future Playoff Format
The deadline has been extended for the College Football Playoff and ESPN to decide on the future postseason format. The new deadline for completing the format has moved from Dec. 1, 2025, to Jan. 23, 2026. The current format of the CFP is the five highest ranked conference champions and the next seven highest-ranked teams are seeded into a 12-team bracket based on the final rankings.
