NFL adds official sportsbook

August 19, 2026

Fanatics becomes an official NFL sportsbook
The NFL has struck a deal with Fanatics to make it an official sportsbook of the league, allowing the company to use official NFL branding ahead of the upcoming regular season. This agreement partially fills the void left by previous sponsorship expirations, as negotiations with top market leaders FanDuel and DraftKings remain stalled over the rising cost of official streaming data from Genius. By securing the partnership and paying the data fees, Fanatics positions itself to challenge the dominance of the major sportsbooks as it expands its footprint in sports betting.

Despite recent job cuts across ESPN and other divisions, the executive remains committed to strategically acquiring top-tier sports rights while keeping the sports network under Disney's corporate umbrella.

Dallas Mavericks, Stars reach agreement after longtime legal battle over American Airlines Center
The Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars have resolved their legal battle over the control and joint operation of American Airlines Center, confirming both teams will remain at the arena through at least the 2030-31 season. The dispute stemmed from a 1999 agreement requiring corporate headquarters to stay within Dallas city limits, which the Mavericks argued the Stars violated when moving their practice facility and headquarters to Frisco in 2003. While terms of the settlement remain undisclosed, the resolution ends an appeal by the Stars following a May 2026 court decision that had initially ruled in favor of the Mavericks.
