NFL Viewership Reaches Highest Level Since 2010, Up 8% from 2024
The middle of the NFL season is approaching. After Week 5, NFL games are at an average per-game viewership of 18.58 million. This marks the highest level at this point of the season since 2010, and the second-largest such mark on record. The current figure is up 8% from last year and 9% from 2023.

Connor McDavid signs a two-year, $25 million contract extension with the Edmonton Oilers
The Edmonton Oilers gave Connor McDavid a two-year, $25 million contract. He will not be the highest-paid player on his own team, settling for more than $1 million a year less than longtime running mate Leon Draisaitl. McDavid stated that he did not want a raise, he wants to win the Stanley Cup.

Clark County approves A’s ballpark development agreement
Clark County approved a development agreement for the Las Vegas A’s stadium. The agreement was unanimously approved on Wednesday. There are regulations surrounding the construction, operation, air quality, water conservation and aviation of the stadium. The approval was needed to enable the A’s to request public funding from Clark County.

The Detroit Tigers failed to reach 40,000 tickets sold for a postseason game for the first time in history. Comerica Park opened in 2000. There were thousands of empty seats in the upper deck in left and right field for Game 4 of the American League Division Series against the Seattle Mariners.

ISU And Learfield Extend Partnership Through 2038
Iowa State Athletics and Learfield are set to enter the new age of college athletes with a long-term partnership. The deal is focused on revenue generation and student-athlete marketing opportunities. Learfield has been Iowa State’s exclusive multi-media rights holder since the 2006-07 academic year. The extended partnership runs through the 2037-38 academic year.
