Field at Maracana Stadium in Rio holds up fine for Ravens-Cowboys after concerns about turf quality
The natural grass turf at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro held up well during the NFL's debut game, despite concerns regarding traction and stability following heavy soccer use. Extensive preparations, including stitching and trimming the grass leading right up to kickoff, minimized player slipping as the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Dallas Cowboys 34-31.
