LIV Golf is preparing for an imminent Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, likely in New Jersey, as Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund pulls its financial backing at the end of the current season. To survive, the league is offering low settlement payouts to golfers with long-term contracts while negotiating a fresh funding package with BC Partners to launch a restructured "LIV 2.0" circuit by 2027. However, the transition faces steep obstacles, including securing enough player commitments for the new format and potential scheduling bans from competing tours.

Boston Legacy postpones White Stadium move to 2028
The NWSL expansion team Boston Legacy has postponed its move into the renovated White Stadium until 2028 following a construction timeline review triggered by a recent Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruling. Although the court dismissed a two-year lawsuit from the Emerald Necklace Conservancy and cleared the legal path for the $325 million project, ongoing grandstand and utility work means the stadium will not be ready for its originally planned 2027 opening. As a result, the team will continue playing its 2027 home matches at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, after splitting its inaugural 2026 season between Gillette Stadium and Centreville.
