Tech entrepreneur Mark Arena agreed to buy the National Basketball League team, the Perth Wildcats. Arena is using his MT Arena Capital Investment Pty Ltd family trust to purchase a 90% stake over two years at a US$20.8 million valuation.

New Balance Partners With WNBA To Advance Women’s Sports
Cameron Brink signed an NIL deal with New Balance in 2023 while playing at Stanford, and now New Balance is partnering with the WNBA. The sports apparel brand inked a multiyear partnership to promote women’s sports through various marketing campaigns and content. They are now an official WNBA partner.

F1 set to replace Rolex with ‘US$150m-a-year’ LVMH sponsorship
French luxury goods company LVMH is replacing Rolex’s sponsorship with F1. Rolex has sponsored F1 since 2013. The new contract with LVMH is reportedly worth $150 million per year from the start of the 2025 season. Forbes reports that LVMH has a market value of $423.87 billion.

More than 50 cameras are scattered around Globe Life Field, the MLB’s newest venue, for the 94th MLB All-Star Game. It is FOX Sports’s 25th time broadcasting the MLB All-Star Game. They have upgraded to using more high-tech cameras, drones and microphones on players.

Gareth Southgate says he will step down as England manager
England manager Gareth Southgate is stepping down after eight years, four tournaments and two finals. He was hired in 2016 and his contract was due to expire this year. Before the European Championship, Southgate said it would likely be his last tournament if England didn’t win, which the team lost 2-1 against Spain.
“As a proud Englishman, it has been the honour of my life to play for England and to manage England. It has meant everything to me, and I have given it my all,” he said. “But it’s time for change, and for a new chapter.”

Chicago Blackhawk’s 18-year-old Calder Rookie of the Year Trophy Winner is now a part of Gatorade Canada. Connor Bedard has offensive creativity and an explosive shot. In his first Gatorade Canada commercial, Bedard shot pucks at 98 Gatorade bottles, denting them and then signing them. They will be given away in a contest that fans can enter to win.

Olympic torch relay visits Paris’ Moulin Rouge and Eiffel Tower
Dancers from the famous Parisian cabaret Le Moulin Rouge performed the iconic Cancan on Place Blanche in celebration of the arrival of the Olympic torchbearers. The torchbearers included French BMX champion Matthias Dandois, who carried the Olympic flame to the Eiffel Tower, cycling on his bike in front of cheering Games volunteers.

Georgia grapples with driving violations as Smart says players are being fined from NIL payments
The collective that provides name, image and likeness payments to Georgia’s student-athletes have disciplined players who have been arrested or cited with driving violations through suspensions and fines. Football players have had 24 driving-related violations, including a crash that killed offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting analyst Chandler LeCroy on Jan. 15, 2023.
