Paige Bueckers to Produce, Star in Women's Basketball Movie for Apple
WNBA forward Paige Buekcers will play a basketball player in the drama film Jess & Pearl. Apple Original Films will release the movies. Bueckers is also an executive producer. The release date has not been announced. Bueckers is 22 years-old and won the WNBA Rookie of the Year award this past season.

Champions League beer sponsor to change as three-decade Heineken agreement ending
Anheuser-Busch InBev is in exclusive talks with UC3, the joint venture between UEFA and Europe’s leading clubs, to replace Heineken as the beer sponsor of European club football’s men’s competitions. Heineken is the second biggest brewer on the planet. They have had access to the sport’s best billboard since 1994. It still has two years to run on its most recent three-year deal, which is worth $!39 million per annum.

James Dolan Earned $38M From Msg Companies, Sphere In 2025
James Dolan owns the New York Knicks, who recently earned their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance last season. He also earned $38.2 million over 12 months from the trio of publication companies he runs, including Madison Square Garden, which owns the Knicks and NHL’s Rangers. Dolan is the CEO and executive chairman of MSGS and Madison Square Garden Entertainment.

NBA Season Opens With Best Ratings in 8 Years Despite Off-Court Scandals
The NBA drew 2.8 million viewers through the first week of the season on national games. This marks the league’s most-watched opening week in eight years. These games are the first under the NBA’s new 11-year, $77 billion media deal with NBC. The NBA’s first games on NBC since 2002 drew in 5.6 million viewers, up 90% vs. last year’s opening-night games on TNT.

Sky Sports extends Baller League rights deal for season two
UK pay-TV broadcaster Sky Sports has extended its broadcast partnership with Sky Sports. Season two of Baller League UK will take place over 11 weeks. Sky Sports will show every match from the second season on Monday evenings. Watchalongs will also air on Sky Sports Football YouTube channel on select Mondays.

Mavericks, Stars in legal spat over American Airlines Center
The Dallas Mavericks filed a lawsuit against the Dallas Stars. Both teams play at American Airlines Center. The Mavericks claim that the NHL team has breached its contract lease and is blocking upgrades for the arena. A clause in the 1998 franchise agreement requires the corporate headquarters to be located within the city of Dallas. The Stars have been based in Frisco since 2003.

Pacquiao Confirms Mayweather Fight Talks After Political Career Fizzles
It’s been 10 years since Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. first fought. Now, there are rumors that round two is in the works. Pacquiao returned to boxing after a four-year absence in July. The potential fight between the opponents would take place at the Las Vegas Sphere and would be streamed on Netflix. Pacquiao announced that his next fight will be Jan. 24, 2026. His first choice of an opponent is Mayweather.

The YES Network is not bringing back longtime New York Yankees analyst and play-by-play announcer John Flaherty. This is part of its series of moves to streamline its broadcasts to feature its leading commentators. Those leaders are David Cone, Paul O’Neill and Joe Girardi. Flaherty had been on Yankees broadcasts for two decades after playing three seasons with the team.

Louisiana governor says he'll let Donald Trump pick next LSU football coach before athletic director does
LSU athletic director Scott Woodward oversees the Tigers’ football program. Governor Jeff Landry doesn’t want Woodward making the call on the new coach search.
“This is a pattern,” Landry said. "The guy here now [Woodward] that wrote that contract cost A&M $77 million. Right now, we have a $53 million liability and we are not doing that again. And you know what? I believe we’re going to find a great coach. Maybe we’ll let President Trump pick it. He loves winners.”
