Paramount Sues Warner Bros. in Escalation of Takeover Fight
Paramount sued Warner Bros. Discovery in an attempt to obtain the rationale behind its recommendation that shareholders reject its takeover bid, saying the TNT parent is asking shareholders to blindly trust a Netflix deal that is “financially inferior” and “less likely” to close. The suit claims breach of fiduciary duty and seeks to force WBD to rectify “misleading and incomplete” disclosures made through U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings.

LeBron James to Wear 23 Seasons Patches That Will Be Turned Into Trading Cards
Topps will create cards with jersey patches honoring a single player’s career milestone. LeBron James will be wearing a “special edition 23rd season jersey patch” for the rest of the 2025-26 season. James signed an exclusive trading-card deal with Fanatics/Topps in 2024.

Golden Globes viewers fume at CBS over ‘random’ and ‘forced’ UFC cameo
The 2026 Golden Globes had a random UFC plug in the middle of the awards show. The lights began to flicker as two UFC fighters clad in branded gear walked out, strutted down stage and then disappeared. The speculation is that the cameo was the result of a deal signed with CBS’s parent company, Paramount, that takes effect this year, making the network the home for all UFC events.

Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions has turned the ManningCast into the golden standard for alternative telecasts. On Monday’s season-finale, the Super Bowl-winning brothers hosted Ben Roethlisberger and JJ Watt. Eli Manning said Omaha has plans for a ManningCast around ESPN’s first telecast of a Super Bowl on Feb. 14, 2027.

New Special Olympics CEO sets ambitious goals to create more opportunities for athletes
David Evangeslista is the CEO of the Special Olympics. The Special Olympics is the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities. The goal is to include 7.5 million athletes by 2030, almost doubling participation in the next five years. Right now, the Special Olympics provides year-round training and activities for more than 4 million participants in 30 Olympic-style sports in 190 countries.

Kylie Kelce set to join NBC’s Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics coverage
Kylie Kelce is the host of the “Not Gonna Lie” podcast. She is also the wife of former Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro center Jason Kelce. Kylie will be part of NBC’s coverage of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in February. She will appear on NBCUniversal’s “Milan Cortina Creator Collective,” which is a multi-platform social creator program with creators across YouTube, Meta and TikTok. She will be telling stories of the games with on-the-ground access in Milan and Cortina.

Top transfer QB Sam Leavitt reportedly signing with Lane Kiffin, LSU
Sam Leavitt visited Kentucky, Tennessee, Miami and LSU. On Monday morning, Leavitt committed to LSU. He joins the new LSU head coach, Lane Kiffin. Leavitt was the top player in the transfer portal and one of the few remaining top-tier quarterbacks. The QB entered the transfer portal after a 2025 season at Arizona State. He appeared in seven games and went 145-for-239 in passing for 1,628 yards.
