The Trumps Are All In On Prediction Markets
President Donald Trump’s social media platform is getting into prediction markets through an exclusive deal with Crypto.com. The deal will include sports event contracts. This is the third prediction market platform that the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., is connected to, following agreements with Kalshi and Polymarket. The new platform from Truth Social will be called Truth Predict. It will offer event contracts on everything from political elections and commodity prices to “events across all major sports leagues,” according to a statement. The platform will be available through an “exclusive arrangement” with a unit of Crypto.com that is federally registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Paramount+ expands UFC streaming deal to Latin America and Australia
Paramount+ secured the exclusive streaming rights to the Ultimate Fighting Championship in Latin America and Australia. The deal starts in 2026 and lasts for seven years. All 13 numbered UFC events and 30 Fight Nights will be streamed live in Latin America, including Brazil.

The Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, celebrated its grand reopening on the same day it originally opened 20 years ago. The 17,500-capacity building is an indoor arena. The NBA team Charlotte Hornets play in the arena. The City of Charlotte owns and operates the arena.

“We’re Built For This”: Grey Cup Festival Returns To Saskatchewan In 2027
The fifth Saskatchewan-based Grey Cup Festival will be held in early November of 2027. Historic Mosaic Stadium was the host venue for the 1995, 2003 and 2013 Grey Cup Games. The Roughriders won the event in 2013. Support from the Province of Saskatchewan, City of Regina and City of Saskatoon was integral to the strength of a bid proposal that ultimately received the assent of the CFL’s Board of Governors.

ESPN considers drastic change for Scott Van Pelt after failed reunion
Network staple Scott Van Pelt is a leading candidate to fill ESPN’s vacant 5pm weekday show time slot. Van Pelt is the longtime host of the late-night “SportsCenter” and “Monday Night Countdown.” Burke Mangus reveled his original intention to reunite Van Pelt with ex-ESPNer Ryen Russillo. The two were partners from 2012-15.

Valerie Camillo is the new Chair for the WTA. She is in charge of leading the next phase of growth for women’s professional tennis. Her role begins Nov. 17. SEC lobbying to overturn NCAA ruling allowing college players to bet on pro sports
SEC commissioner Greg Sankey urged the NCAA to rescind its decision to allow college athletes to wager on professional sports. SEC presidents and chancellors are “clear and united” that the NCAA’s move should be reserved. Governing committees over all three NCAA divisions voted to lift the betting ban on pro sports over the last few weeks.
