Saints’ planned Paris game may not happen in 2026
In November 2025, Saints president Dennis Lauscha said the team and the league hope to play a regular-season game at Stade de France in 2026. Now, this may not happen in 2026. The ongoing negotiations may not be concluded in time to allow a game to happen next season. For now, the Saints will have nine home games in 2026, eight in 2027 and nine in 2028.

A new year is here, but the WNBA and WNBPA still haven’t resolved their differences in CBA negotiations
January 9 marks the second extended deadline for the WNBA and WNBPA to decide on a collective bargaining agreement. However, a deal is not even close to being decided on. The two sides remain at odds over a revenue sharing model, what should be considered revenue and how to account for expenses. The WNBPA’s most recent known proposal seeks a revenue sharing system that would allocate an average of 30 percent of gross revenue to players over the term of the deal and would institute a $10.5 million salary cap in the first year.

Drake, Stake Sued Again as Sweepstakes Apps Come Under More Scrutiny
Drake is facing a lawsuit claiming he promoted a misleading casino gambling platform and used it as part of a scheme to artificially boost his music streams. The lawsuit alleges Drake and others misled customers by promoting Stake, which the filing claims falsely brands itself as a legal casino game. Sweepsteaks, Drake, streamer Adin Ross, and Australian social media creator David Nguyen are all listed as defendants.

NBA Christmas audience hits 15-year high with 47M viewers
The NBA saw its best Christmas Day viewership numbers in 15 years. More than 47 million people in the US watched at least some of the five-game slate on ABC and ESPN. This is a 45% increase over last year. There was an average of 5.5 million viewers for the games, up 4% from a year ago.

Winter Classic ‘awesome event’ for Panthers despite loss to Rangers
The Florida Panthers and New York Rangers played the 2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic in Miami. This was the Panthers’ first outdoor game, the first NHL outdoor game in the Sunshine State and the southernmost NHL regular-season game. The event had a sellout crowd of 36,153 in IoanDepot Park, home of the Miami Marlins MLB team. It was the warmest Winter Classic at 63.1 degrees Fahrenheit, and the second warmest NHL outdoor game.

New England Revolution Stadium Project in Everett Moves Step Closer
A proposed new stadium for the New England Revolution has moved a step closer. The Kraft Group announced it had reached agreements with the cities of Boston and Everett, Massachusetts, for the long-term transformation of an industrial site along the Mystic River in Everett. The stadium is anticipated to have a capacity of around 25,000 seats.

2025 NFL regular season nears ‘dramatic’ end
The 2025 NFL regular season came to an end yesterday. The Giants and Titans must make decisions on their interim coaches. The Raiders, Browns, Cardinals, Buccaneers, Ravens and Steelers might also be looking for coaching changes as well. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on what coaches he thinks are safe for another season or going to be taken out.

Titans restructure front office ahead of critical coaching search
The Titans’ general manager, Mike Borgonzi, will take over final say of the 53-man roster and will lead the search for the next head coach. That new head coach will report to Borgonzi. President of football operations Chad Brinker and Borgonzi will both report to controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk. Previously, Borgonzi and the coach had reported to Brinker. This all comes as the team is searching for a new head coach.

Former NBA draft pick James Nnaji makes controversial debut for Baylor
James Nnaji was once part of the Karl Anthony-Towns trade to the New York Knicks. On Saturday, Jan. 3, he made his college basketball debut with Baylor in its Big 12 opener. He was welcomed with boos from the crowd and was continuously booed every time he touched the ball. Nnaji was a second-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Since then, his draft rights have been traded twice, but he has never signed an NBA contract.
