Vinod Khosla-led group agrees to buy the Seahawks for a reported $9.612 billion
A group led by venture capitalist and current San Francisco 49ers limited partner Vinod Khosla has agreed to purchase the Seattle Seahawks from the estate of the late Paul Allen. The reported sale price of $9.612 billion sets a monumental new record for the most expensive franchise transaction in NFL history. Because of the purchase, Khosla will be required to sell his existing ownership stake in the Seahawks' NFC West division rivals. The massive transaction is currently undergoing customary due diligence by the league and awaits an official approval vote from the rest of the NFL team owners later this summer.

Cognify Health, a Los Angeles-based healthcare startup focused on youth sports concussion care, has raised a multi-million dollar seed funding round led by Game Changers Ventures. Founded by Harvard graduate Christian Juzang, the platform and medical health provider allows young athletes to book virtual doctor visits within 24 hours of a head injury. The company currently employs around 10 people and plans to use the capital for hiring and product development to become an integrated healthcare layer for youth sports programs.

Michigan AD Warde Manuel's job in jeopardy as internal investigation reaches athletics leadership
The Michigan Board of Regents is scheduled to meet this Thursday to discuss the findings of an independent investigation into the culture, conduct, and procedures of the athletics department. Led by law firm Jenner & Block, the wide-ranging review was initially launched following the fallout and subsequent firing of former football coach Sherrone Moore over an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate. The investigation has now put the tenure of long-time Athletics Director Warde Manuel in serious jeopardy, with sources indicating he is currently weighing his options, including retirement.
