The CBC decided to have its studio and production operations based at Canada House, located in the Cité des sciences et de I’industrie. The change of location was a smart one.
“We are gaining the presence of athletes and families during the evening, and we get access to the athletes more quickly and they also stay with us longer because they’re not going through a car wash of interviews,” says Messier. “So instead of having them for two minutes we can them for seven or eight minutes.”

The PricewaterhouseCoopers’ annual Global Sports Survey revealed that 85% of sports experts are predicting double-digit growth for women’s sports revenues over the next three to five years. Woodrow Wilson Classical High School has had alumni compete at every Olympics since 1952, except 1980 Games that the U.S. boycotted. There are more than 30 alumni that have made it to the Olympics. This year, high jumper Rachel Glenn and water polo player Max Irving were added to Wilson’s reputation as an Olympic powerhouse.

DL Eyioma Uwazurike reinstated by NFL to Broncos' 90-man roster
Defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike was suspended last July after league officials determined he bet on NFL games in 2022. After a year-long suspension, the Denver Broncos reinstated him. He is eligible to participate in all team activities.

FIVB wants to bring beach volleyball events back to Eiffel Tower stadium after Paris 2024
The International Volleyball Federation is exploring possibly bringing future beach volleyball events back to the centre of Paris after the 2024 Paris Olympics. Refreshing the fan experience was part of the remit for Volleyball World when it was formed in 2021 on the back of a strategic partnership between the FIVB and private equity firm CVC Capital Partners, which invested $100 million for a 33% stake in the federation. The FIVB continues to oversee all sporting matters, but Volleyball World is responsible for areas such as event hosting, media rights sales, and ultimately bringing more revenue into the sport.

Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore could be penalized as the NCAA prepares to release its notice of allegations against the program into an alleged sign-stealing scheme. Safety Trey McNutt announced his commitment to the Oregon Ducks over Florida, Ohio State, Texas A&M and USC. He is the highest-ranked defensive back commitment in program history. McNutt is ranked the No.1 safety in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports and is considered the No. 23 overall player in the class. The commitment vaulted Oregon’s 2025 class from No. 11 to No. 6 in the 247Sports Team Rankings.
