Minute Media’s publishing deal for Sports Illustrated already showing results
There is good news for those of us who grew up reading and loving Sports Illustrated — according to Sara Fischer of AXIOS, Minute Media’s 10-year publishing deal has “already changed the trajectory” of SI.

Co-Editor-in-Chief Steve Cannella has stated the vast majority of employees laid off during the transition from The Arena Group have been rehired, and that the media company will enhance its coverage of women’s and global sports.

MLB game at Rickwood Field a seminal moment in Negro League history
Major League Baseball will play its first game at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama on Thursday when the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals meet at the historic ballpark.

Rickwood Field, 114 years old this year, is the oldest professional ballpark in the United States, and hosted the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro Leagues during the height of the Civil Rights movement.

Les Miles sues LSU over vacated wins he alleges cost him Hall of Fame eligibility
Miles’ official win-loss record from his time on the sideline at Oklahoma State, LSU and Kansas is 108-73, which is a .597 win percentage, just below the .600 mark to be considered for the College Football Hall of Fame.

Miles would be well above that .600 mark if not for 37 vacated games at LSU, as part of an investigation into the football and men’s basketball programs.
