When the COVID-19 pandemic hit athletic departments in 2020, many began lucrative marriages with betting operators.

Those athletic departments are again looking for cash after a settlement in the House v. NCAA case has them paying their student-athletes around $20 million per year, starting as soon as 2025. Only this time, public backlash has the universities turning away from betting operators and looking elsewhere.
