Mountain West Hoping to Collect $100M From Departing Schools
Per SBJ via Geoff Grammer of The Albuquerque Journal, The Mountain West is “hopeful to collect more than" $100M in exit fees and other penalties from its five departing schools: Colorado State, Boise State, Fresno State, San Diego State, and Utah State.
From the first $61M collected from the exit fees, the distribution will be: 24.5% apiece to UNLV and Air Force, 11.5% apiece to Nevada, New Mexico, San Jose State and Wyoming and 5% to Hawaii.”

Judge Preliminarily Approves House v. NCAA Settlement
As On3’s Pete Nakos writes, “If the House v. NCAA settlement is ultimately approved, some $2.75 billion in damages will be paid to thousands of college athletes over 10 years. And schools, at their discretion, will be able to share $21-22 million annually with athletes. The figure equates to 22% of the average Power Five school’s revenue. It will rise 4% each year.”

As Sportico’s Michael McCann writes, “Termini and Klutch had a contractual relationship during the 2010s wherein Termini provided contract negotiation services. MLS Passes Single-Season Attendance Record
With 16 games left in the MLS regular season, the league has surpassed its previous full-season attendance record of 10,900,804 set in 2023. Through this past weekend’s matches, the league's 29 clubs have welcomed 11,085,336 fans this season, not including Leagues Cup matches.

Court Decision Could Force Illinois Athletics to Pay $22 Million Annually to Athletes
A federal judge could soon approve a settlement paying college athletes billions of dollars, calling it "revenue sharing." If approved, Illinois would need to pay student-athletes a total of $22 million annually, a new expense for the school.
