🎵 Usher to headline Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas
Apple Music, the NFL and Roc Nation announced that Usher will perform during the Apple Music at the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb.11, on CBS. “Usher is an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape throughout his career, we couldn't be more excited to have him headline this year's Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show," said Seth Dudowsky, NFL Head of Music. “We look forward to working with Usher, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans another Halftime Show for the history books." 🦚 Rick Cordella named President of NBC Sports
NBCUniversal appointed Rick Cordella to the role of President, NBC Sports, reporting into Mark Lazarus, Chairman, NBCUniversal Media Group. Cordella will now lead all aspects of NBC Sports’ collection of brands and platforms, which includes NBC Sports, NBC Olympics, Golf Channel, NBC Sports Digital and two transactional sports businesses, GolfNow and SportsEngine. 🏈 Amazon’s TNF continues upticks
After claiming record-setting viewership for the 2023 debut of Thursday Night Football a week prior, Prime Video again saw big gains over last season with its second outing this season, between the Giants and 49ers. According to Nielsen National TV Ratings, TNF on Prime Video averaged 13.92 million viewers on Thursday night, marking an increase of +26% over last year’s comparable TNF game a year prior. ⚖ Adidas files logo trademark issue against LIV Golf
Adidas is alleging that LIV Golf’s “L” logo is “confusingly similar” to its own staple three-stripe icon. FOS reports that Adidas is taking legal action to block five trademark applications filed by LIV Golf, claiming that the similarities infringe on the brand. Read more here.

🔍 United States, Mexico, and Canada launch joint initiative to detect collusive schemes seeking to exploit the 2026 FIFA World Cup
The Justice Department is working with partners from Mexico’s COFECE and Canada’s Competition Bureau to launch a joint initiative to “deter, detect and prosecute collusive schemes related to the provision of goods and services in connection with the 2026 FIFA World Cup.” The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by the three nations, with events scheduled to occur across 11 locations in the United States, three cities in Mexico, and two cities in Canada.
