How NFL Streaming Will Work With Coverage Across Four Exclusive Platforms
There are four exclusive streaming partners of the NFL: Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Peacock and ESPN+. Amazon Prime Video is in its second year of a 10-year agreement with the NFL for exclusive rights to stream Thursday Night Football. Netflix is entering its first year of a three-year deal that will see it broadcast the NFL’s Christmas Day games this season. ESPN is in its third year of an 11-year media-rights deal with the NFL. It covers Monday Night Football and the ManningCast. Peacock paid the NFL $110 million for the rights.

Nike Sponsors 17 Of The Top 25 College Football Teams
Nike, Adidas, Jordan and Under Armour are the four brands that sponsor college football teams in the top 25. Nike sponsors 17 of the top 25 teams in the NCAA College Football FBS. No. 1 ranked Georgia has been aligned with Nike since 1999. Adidas partners with Miami, Texas A&M, Kansas and NC State. Jordan Brand signed with Michigan for a 15-year $173.8 million deal.

The National Basketball Association formalized its giving over the past four years through a new $300 million grant-making arm. It allows them to send flexible funding to nonprofits focused on booting economic opportunity for Black youth. The NBA Foundation recently donated to the Youth Empowerment Project to help build a new site.

Plaintiffs Appeal After $4.7 Billion NFL Sunday Ticket Verdict Tossed
A Los Angeles jury ruled that the NFL had overcharged for Sunday Ticket when the out-of-market package was distributed by DirecTV from June 17, 2011, through Feb. 7, 2023. The NFL challenged the math of $4.7 billion. Overall, there would be no structural changes, including a price cut, to the current Sunday Ticket setup on YouTube TV.

Goalkeeper Merle Frohms is retiring from the Germany women’s team after she was benched for the Paris Olympics tournament. She played 52 times for Germany. She said she wanted to focus on her club career with Wolfsburg and having time with family and friends again.

The NFLPA says 92% of players prefer grass. It is easier on their bodies and leads to fewer serious injuries. Grass is more expensive and harder to maintain. The NFL announced $100,000 in grants to two groups whose technology could help make fields more consistent.

The University of Michigan entered a 10-year partnership with Legends. The deal will create a best-in-class online shopping experience for fans and at all existing athletics facilities. They will have the exclusive rights to manage, operate, sell and distribute Michigan-licensed merchandise.
