Hoffman Family of Companies is about to acquire the Pittsburgh Penguins from Fenway Sports Group. The estimated deal is with $1.7 billion. FSG purchased the Penguins in 2021 in a $900 million deal. The team has not made playoffs, has had a decline in attendance and viewership in their time with FSG.

Chicago Bears considering Indiana locations for new stadium amid Illinois stalemate
The Chicago Bears are exploring locations in Indiana for their proposed new domed stadium. The organization has run out of patience with the authorities in Illinois. The NFL has not been granted a discounted property tax rate for the former Arlington International Racetrack site. The move to Arlington Heights is not financially feasible without a reduction in property taxes.

Ex-NASCAR star Greg Biffle, family members killed in North Carolina plane crash
Former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, his wife, his children and three others were killed in a plane crash in North Carolina on Thursday. The Iredell County Sheriff's Office confirmed to Fox News Digital that there were seven fatalities in the crash. The crash happened around 10:20am ET at the Statesville Regional Airport.

Breaking: Naomi Osaka to Leave Evolve
Women’s tennis player Naomi Osaka is parting ways with her longtime agent, Stuart Duguid. This also means she is parting from Evolve, the agency that she co-founded three years ago. Her contract expires at the end of 2025. Osaka is returning to IMG in 2026. Osaka’s manager, Alex Boston, is transferring from Evolve to IMG as well.

Texas hires Will Muschamp as defensive coordinator: Former Florida, South Carolina coach returns to Longhorns
Will Muschamp is returning to Texas as the team’s defensive coordinator. Muschamp was the Longhorns’ defensive coordinator back in 2008-2010. Then, he spent time in Florida and South Carolina. Muschamp is replacing Pete Kwiatkowski.
