YouTube TV Is Adding 10 Genre-Specific Subscription Plans, Including A Sports Bundle
YouTube TV will offer cheaper, more targeted packages of programming starting next year. There will be 10 different packages. Individual plans can be combined, allowing heavy viewers of sports and news, for example, to get their fix without paying extra for general entertainment fare that is increasingly available outside of the pay bundle. A family entertainment plan is also in the mix.

NHL projects this season's revenue to around $6.8 billion
The NHL projects that revenue for the season will be around $6.8 billion. Commissioner Gary Bettman said that is on track with what the NHL was expecting. A change in slab cap and figures in the NHL and NHLPA will not change. The salary cap is calculated based off of a formula that takes into account the previous season’s hockey related revenue.

WTA signs with Mercedes in 'most significant deal in our history'
The Women’s Tennis Association announced a long-term partnership with Mercedes-Benz. The car company will become the premier partner for the WTA and give $50 million per year to the program for up to 10 years. The deal could be worth u pro half a billion dollars. The WTA deal will help with the tour’s commitment to have equal prize money at events where both men and women feature by 2027 and at non-combined events by 2033.

Disney quietly shutters beloved ESPN channel for good leaving sports fans scrambling
ESPN3 was officially removed from live TV streaming services and traditional pay-TV packages on Dec. 2. Disney had already warned distributors in November that ESPN3 was being shut down after the launch of its new ESPN app in August made the channel largely redundant. The closure comes amid a wider clear-out of TV channels and digital platforms as media giants rush to cut costs and push viewers towards streaming.

NFL will play games in Munich in 2026, 2028
The NFL announced that it will play a game in Allianz Arena in Munich in 2026 and 2028. Munich has hosted games in 2022 and 2024. There will also be games in Melbourne, Australia, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the first time during the 2026 season. Two games are set for Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. More international games are in the works.

Serie A match in Perth set to be cancelled
The proposed Serie A match at Perth’s Optus Stadium between AC Milan and Como 1907 is expected to be played elsewhere. The Asian Football Confederation and Football Australia tried to impose strict conditions, which have led to a halt of negotiations. One condition was to have an AFC referee officiate the game instead of one from the Italian FA.

Wang is the Chief Operating Officer, Kegley is the Chief Digital Officer and Harper is the Chief Marketing Officer.

NASCAR chairman Jim France was the final witness called by Michael Jordan’s side in the federal antitrust lawsuit against the racing series. He explained his parents once told him to always pay the bills and do what you say you’re going to do. Those two principles influenced France’s refusal to budge on permanent charters in the 2025 revenue-sharing agreement.

Lane Kiffin’s LSU Coaches Head Back to Ole Miss—With Noncompetes
Lane Kiffin gave his Ole Miss assistants an option to join him at LSU or he couldn’t guarantee a new job for them at LSU. The staffers are now headed back to Mississippi for a playoff run. Four LSU offensive coaches returned to Oxford to help prepare and coach the Rebels for their upcoming College Football Playoff game against Tulane. The assistants signed a binding memorandum of understanding with LSU that includes a noncompete clause that they are to return to LSU as soon as Ole Miss’s season ends.
